Provides children under approximatley 11 years of age a venue to display artwork they have created, an opportunity to participate in art contests with their peers, sell and/or auction their art, and a mechanism to host fundraising events for schools, art programs and art associations. .Researchers have identified four factors that affect adult cultural preferences: values transmitted by family, values transmitted at school, child exposure to the arts and practicing an art form as an amateur. In general, tastes and preferences are believed to be set before the age of 20. (Kolb, 2001; Council of Europe, 1993; Leroy, 1980; Ford Foundation, 1974). Any measure taken to interest children in the arts is, then crucially important. It might be argued therefore, that reaching young audiences is the responsibility of everyone in the arts milieu.
